Creating a Forest Scent at Home for Christmas

For years as a child I insisted on having a real Christmas tree. The world and Christmas as I knew it would robbed somehow if my living room wasn’t adorned with the fresh pine scent that I loved for the holidays.
However, as housing situations in the United States have changed for some into more compact environments people are leaning towards the convenient faux Christmas Tree. Sturdy and true it remains tucked away in a box all year long until Thanksgiving rolls to an end and our lives are consumed by shopping lists and ginger bread cookies (I vote for the cookies).
For those that long for the scent of your beloved holiday tree hovering in your home might want to consider a healthy alternative to candles filled with less than natural ingredients. Thus introducing the woodsy scented collection of essential oils. A unique spin from the traditional cinnamon and clove essential oils are woodsy scents. They are rarely given a thought as a favorite but for the holidays they just might do the trick.

Aroma Diffuser

There are different tools and devices to diffuse essential oils but I prefer an aromatherapy diffuser. There are many different versions from a variety of companies that you can choose from. You can support your local health food store and purchase one from there or if you don’t have one close by, you can simply order online and have one shipped to you. The average price range will be anywhere between $20-$50. Once you have your diffuser it can fill your home or work space with just a few drops of essential oil. A common mistake is over loading a diffuser with too much essential oil. Just a few drops will do to give a subtle and pleasant scent to the atmosphere.

So there you have it. If you’ve opted for a fake Christmas tree this year, not to worry. You can still experience the wonderful seasonal aroma of a rich forest in your living room with natural essential oils geared for the season. As always, keep safety as a priority. Each person is different and if you feel an allergic reaction to any of these scents remove them right away. Also remember to keep essential oil bottles in a dark cabinet if possible and away from small children.
Enjoy the clean tree inspired aromas as they waft through your home without having to worry about cleaning the pines needles off the floor or disposing of your Christmas tree this year.
